  1. The program allows you to recompress your AVI files. The application supports not only the files containing audio streams but AVIs without any audio as well. For the time being the program uses only XviD codec to recompression process (versions: 1.0.3 or newer). The installation pack contains all required components (the newest versions of: VirtualDubMod, AviSynth and XviD). AVI ReComp can be very useful for users who want to clear their AVIs out of GMC or Qpel functions to prepare the clips for standalone DVD players. The program contains a feature of embedding subtitles into video. So if you want burnt in subtitles, you can use this software. The applications supports AVIs with the following audio formats: mp3, wav, ac3, ogg. Supported subtitle formats: txt, sub, srt, ass, ssa. AVI ReComp includes multilingual interface (for the time being: English and Polish). In the future the author intends to create many new and very useful features.
You can post, write new topics and report any bugs in this section using English language.

Call me Mr negative but if you backed up your dvd to xvid and you found out that it doesnt play properly because of GMC or Qpel wouldnt it better if instead of reencoding the avi again and lose yet more quality, to get your dvd and use for example a tool that doesnt produce backups with GMC or Qpel something like avi.net and do a fresh backup?
I love it when a plan comes together!

  8. Hi Mr negative

The program is for the ones which don't have how to make from the DVD for the another copy for different reasons. It is possible from the 0.1.3 version to add inscriptions. The program is being extended still for additional functions and nobody knows what will be in the 0.2.0 version ?

Perhaps most important function (recompresion) will be only an addition at the moment in the future. Give the Avi ReComp chance to the development. It only 3 updating.

We are creating the page in the English version at the moment.
