  1. I'm sorry to be asking a question like this but I'd like to get some opinions from people here. I'm a newbie when it comes to conversions and almost all video. My question is:

What guide or program do you recommend for converting XViD/DiVX to DVD? I see a ton of guides on the HowTo list, but I'd just like some opinions like (this is the easiest and turns out the best). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. Excellent. Thanks for the links.

Now, how would you compare the quality to other programs? Thanks

  3. So how would you rate the quality difference between these programs?

Also, if I moved to a different program, what would the quality difference be like? Thanks.

The quality would depend on the quality of the XVID/DIVX. The 'best' way and most quality would be to use a standalone encoder like TMPGEnc, and a few other programs for audio conversion, then an authoring program to set up menus, etc. But you would have to read a few more guides.

Try VSO DivxToDVD. It may be all you need for most XVID/DIVX conversions. An average XVID movie will take up about 1.5GB when encoded to DVD. You can easily get two per DVD. If you don't like the quality, try the others Baldrick mentioned, or try the 'best' way.
