I’ve just bought a Compaq nx 6110 laptop and when playing a DVD the volume seams quite low especially the dialog even when turned right up, i have tried windows media player and Nero Show Time and checked all the volume setting i can find. dose anybody know of any setting that could be changed or am i just expecting to much from the small speakers? (Play audio CDs alot louder)

Every laptop is different. Mine has fairly low volume, but if your CDs play louder, then there's a couple of things to look at. In the software player, check the sound options. There may be some other setting available. I use PowerDVD and it has a few more options for sound. Also in 'Control Panel' > 'Sounds and Audio Devices', there's usually an 'Advanced' window with individual settings. Also under 'Audio' look at the' Sound Playback' device settings, usually some Advanced setup there also.
