What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend? -

I usually do some light cleaning around the house.
Does the "make love" option have to include another person? -
What about an option for "stare at the monitor until the project is complete"

'all of the above'
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0 -
Watch a movie / tv. I've found that if I open a browser prior to starting the burn I usually don't have any problems burning...

i usually start threads asking people what they do while they're waiting, but you beat me to the punch.

Usually my projects are batch encoding while I'm asleep or at work. When I have to render out a smaller clip I often slave them out to the other workstation so I can continue to use my main workstation for doing more editing or crashing BF2 when I try to play it. Sometimes I'll have a movie I want to watch but otherwise if I'm not at my PC keeping an eye on things I'm not far away with a book. Now with wireless and my laptop I can keep an eye on things from anywhere in the house or even outside in the gazebo

I said "Watch tv/movie", but this poll should let you choose more than one option.
It all depends on specifically what kind of "project" is running and what time of day.
If I'm running TMPGEnc and it's gonna take a while, I usually set it up right before bed or work.
Friday morning I set up a batch encode (6 files) for TMPGEnc to convert from .avi to .m2v/.wav and then left town, getting back just a few hours ago. It took over 35 hours...
So "Go on vacation" could even be an option!
If I'm authoring or burning, I usually just surf TV or go to my other PC and surf the net."To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright
