I have an Mpeg-2 file from my "DVR" that is about 5+GB in size and it plays perfectly in WMP 10. I use Sonic MyDVD to Author DVD's, but it doesn't shrink the mpeg's to fit and this one's too big. So, what's an easy way to shrink this mpeg-2, while maintaining the best quality, into DVD compliant mpeg-2, so that it fits on a dvd-r?
I know Tmpgenc is most people's choice, but for some reason, both v2.5 and 3.0 Xpress show a blank screen when I open the file in either program. The Audio sounds fine, but I see no picture. I've tried moving the directshow filter to the top in the environmental settings, but no go. I'm giving up on it, so I'd love some recommendations of other progs that can do the same thing. Thanks!!!
