i havent seen the film, i watched the trailer when i went to see star wars-reveng of the sith and while watching i was thinking "this must be a cool film"

    guess trailers do mislead people.

Chris Tookey, film critic of The Daily Mail (my parents buy it, not me) gave it 5/5 claiming it's "the greatest action epic of all time". Then again he's an arse and I hate The Daily Mail.

    It does look good though.

he said fed agents wouldnt use guns chasing kids , and having it in ET in the first place was mistake . well he was wrong (though it really didnt need to be in the movie and even makes more sense with the walkie talkies they have in place of them)

  12. I saw it today and I thought it was superb.

The ending was a bit limp but we all new how it was going to end though.

The action was superb and the acting great.

Spielberg is a genius the scene where they get pulled out of the car and how he reflected on modern day by getting the pedophilia references.

This is his best suspense/action film since Jaws without a doubt.

Don't listen to Yoda, go and see it.

Yeah... but give Batman a light saber and make him sound like he suffers from emphysema and it's great! Right?

I saw it last night and sorry, Yoda, you're a great guy but I'm going to have to disagree with you here.
If you had any interest in this before then go see it for yourself. (Although maybe go to a matinee screening so you can save a buck if you DO hate it, that's what I tend to do).

Anyway, I thought it was great, FWIW.

1 - war of the the words.

I think, that after the worthless "cruse" hype, they
will revisit this hype and hype it up again for another
    oncore

yeah.., and "Revenge.." will mock "War of the.."

Revenge of the Sith is already on DVD (in asia) ... very very high quality with english and korean subtitles and AC3/DTS and a really nice case and disk ....

i take it those are not official yet i guess - no wonder they are pissed off ...

I think cruse is on a downward spiral , but he can bounce back if he stops talking about a wacked out cult that rips people off in a pyramid scheme and believes everyone has an alien living in them that were brought to earth 75million years ago in DC8's and Hbombed at the foot of volcanos - and that you can measure with a special (measure the aliens) machine which has been proven to do nothing , all started by a guy certified to be insane ....

other than that and (imo) no A+ acting talent to speak of but known to be a great human being, good worker and dedicated and good looking by many peoples standards ..

    BAH!

why didn't you just call it 'my thoughts on WOTW'? instead of saying it sucked a bit like the Batman Begins thread. You put me off going to see the movie now so I've gotta wait until I can rent it to save my money by not going to the pictures

here is a spoiler for you .... the humans won ....

you know i wonder why they have not made a movie trilogy of John Christopher's clasic series for kids "The Tripod Series"
(When the Tripods Came/ the White Mountains/ the City of Gold and Lead/ the Pool of Fire)..

Good material - but would look like a rip off of "war of the worlds" somewhat ..

edit - I a not the only one who thinks this would be movie material (was also a short lived UK tv series in the 80's) :

Australian-born director Gregor Jordan has signed on to rewrite and direct the adaptation of John Christopher's The Tripods Trilogy for Walt Disney's Touchstone Pictures label, Variety reported.

Disney picked up the feature rights to Christopher's SF book series in 1997 for producer Don Murphy, with an eye toward the project's franchise possibilities.

In 2000, Darren Lemke came on board to adapt the trilogy, and subsequently, Terry Hayes, before Jordan signed to rewrite and direct, the trade paper reported.

The Christopher trilogy, which comprises The White Mountains, The City of Gold and Lead and The Pool of Fire, tells the story of an Earth conquered by Tripods, who have enslaved the human race by implanting a mind-controlling device in the heads of everyone over 15, the trade paper reported. The books, first published in 1967, tell the story of a boy and two of his friends who race to overthrow the Tripods before they must undergo the capping ritual. The Tripods Trilogy was previously adapted by the BBC as a TV series, beginning in 1984.
