Mac Powerbook G4 15' Superdrive.
Quicktime 7 Pro (7.0.1)
I have just started using ffmpegX and while it seems to do a good job in many areas, I cannot get the really important bits to do the job that I want. ie large .dv files to .mp4 files. If it works at all (sometimes just goes bing but actaully does nothing with no error messages), then it often has no sound. At least quicktime thinks there is no sound, but VLC plays it fine.
Also, if I try to convert anything to an .avi, quicktime won't read it (same with h264), but vlc will.
OpenShiiva works for the same file types, but sometimes the playback is jerky on QT7. Again VLC is fine.
Any similar issues or thoughts?
Cheers,
Guy
