i have burned countless XviD's, DivX, DVDr's, etc in the past and have had very few problems. except about a month ago i was wanting to watch the last ep of a show and, the file was just like all the other eps, would play fine on my pc, but when i used the same method to burn it to a cd-r (tdk) via nero, it looked like garbled junk on my tv.
it played, but it was all runny and the color was jacked and was just not watchable. i ignored it until now i have it happening to another video. i have tried several different cd types, different speeds, even burned the XviD's onto a DVDr since i can also play them that way and it's the same issue.
i loaded the XviD into MPEG4Modifier and it's not QPeL or GMC, which i know these players refuse. has anyone else had this problem? i know i could probably just convert them to IFO/VOBs and be done but i want to know what is causing this so i can prevent it in the future.

oh i tried this trick by pressing the system button on the remote, which, clears *most* of the garbage up but it slowly inches back and is clearly visible and is not existent on the pc

MPEG4Modifier will also tell you what quant matrix was used. If it uses a CQM (custom matrix) then that is most likely the problem.
