Hello,
I have a bunch of Excel spreadsheets that I cant open for some reason.
I have windows xp and office 2000 installed. When I try to open any one of the 10 spreadsheets, it says its not a valid file. Except, it is. I have opened them up at work and they are fine.
Any suggestions?

Of course there hasn't been a change in office formats in a long while but.... -
Another thing you can make sure is that ensure the file extension ends in .XLS
Go back to your work place and open the excel files again. This time, save them again and when you click save as, there is a save as type option. Choose the option highlighted below:
Now try to open the files on your home PC.
