Im using BesweetGUI to convert wav audio to ac3. Whenever I try to convert, the DOS window comes up for a second and then I get a message in notepad saying Error 74: Bad configuration for AC3enc. Couldn't initialize.. I don't know what to do. I've followed the guides exactly as they say. But its not working. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Also, I'm trying to make 2 channel ac3, if that matters. Am I supposed to be installing some sort of ac3 codec? I'm a newbie when it comes to this sort of stuff. All I have is a ac3enc.dll in my besweetgui folder, plus whatever else came in the zip folder. This is getting really annoying. Please, any info at all would help.

I just tried belightgui and the same thing happened. I started processing my wav file and it was processing for half a second then it said it was finished and nothing happened. Gah! Thank you for the advice though, tigerman.

How deep is the directory structure of the folder that the wav is in? You may be exceeding the maximum number of characters for the filename string. Try moving the wav file to a root directory and running it from there. Also check the wav filename and remove any spaces if there are any (it may have no effect, but some programs don't like spaces in filenames.)

  6. I've always had more luck with this tool, rather than Besweet, which I found a bit difficult.
    Freeware, so worth a try!!

I tried putting it in a root directory and still no luck. And ffmpegGui was no help either. Thanks for trying to help though. Is there any other form of audio I can convert it to thats easier to do and won't take up a lot of space?

Ah. Something was definitely wrong with the wav file. I just tried another wav file and it worked fine. Thanks for all your help guys. I'll let you know how it turns out.
