whats the easiest way to combine 2 avi files without burning them to cd?

combine 2 avi files into 1 file

VirtualDub. File-> Append avi segment.
Put everything in Direct stream mode, Select as avi.
This will concatenate both avi's.

yep, in the guides section (<< to your left), there's even a whole section devoted to How to cut/join/edit AVI/DivX/XviD, and from within that, there's a guide called How to easily join AVI files with VirtualDub, or there's another one called How to Cut/Join with Virtualdub
