    What model and version?

If you have a WRT54G you could try upgrating the firmware to version 3.03.9. For more info check this link: http://wrt54g.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=170

Sometimes disconection problems are not caused by the router itself but by the network card. Please also write down the detials of your card.

Make sure that you have the right model. If you flash your router with the wrong firmware you may destroy it.

If you do not have the router model I was talking about, check the following linck for other downloads: http://www.wrt54g.com/pages.php?p=firmware and http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Topics

For disconnections caused by the network adapter check these links: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=263826

Probably the example is for a different network adapter, but the basic Windows configuration should be the same.

I was also going to recommend upgrading the firmware.

I had more or less the same problem with my Netgear router. Mine kept disconneting from the internet, a firmware upgrade seemed to solve the problem.

There are newer fimware for some Linksys routers. You could try them.
