Currently using NeroVision Express 3 to convert some avi clips and make a dvd. Problem is after the dvd is created the dvd works but there is no sound. I haven't messed with any of the audio settings they have been left it as default. Just before burning there is a preview of what the DVD will turn out to be and there is sound.

    Any ideas anyone?

is there no sound when you play the DVD on your computer, or in a settop DVD player ?

If you say computer, I say you might need an AC3 codec. AC3Filter is good.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Change sound from LPM to AC3. This is probably your problem.

I doubt it ... any PC with Windows on it or any settop player in the world will play LPCM (WAV) audio, whereas PCs without an AC3 codec will not play AC3, no matter how hard you try.
    If in doubt, Google it.
