for some reason last night several qt files were made from my alchemydvr card in the usual manner but on playing them there was no sound. the info on the files says alsos the ususal: stereo etc.
I tried VLC player and again there no sound was played. I went into the pref in alchemy and it showed the tv with sound. i did a one minute test of alchemy to qt and there was sound.
anyway to further look at the 'soundless' qt files to see what happened before Itoss them to see whats up?
all other files play fine. of course it could be that cable had no sound for 12 hours on several channels?
how odd
thanks rotuts

How large is the audio track when you do a command-I (in QT player) on the QT movie?

I gave up and trashed them. I looked at the audio track gra[hically and nothing happen with the LED 'meter' so assumed nothing was there. I didn't know I could look at the audio as a file size but Ill keep that in mind in the future.
there was no L or R etc so I assume nothing was recorded for some reason. pretty dumb of me not to keep at least one file for ref!
but thatnks for your help maybe Ill be lucky and it won't happen again.
