  1. Hi all...

I have a .dat file that I would like to turn into a vcd so that I can watch it on my standalone Phillips 710.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

(be gentle on a newbie pls !!)

    PS-Merry Xmas !

  2. some times U can just drop it straight into Nero & burn it as a compliant VCD if it wont do that then download Tmpeg. Use the simple multiplex option on the tools section making sure U have selected vcd-mpeg 1 in the check box & away U go its done & U can burn it as a VCD!

    Kev!

  4. I've never had a problem with dropping the dat right into nero, but if not, renaming the extender from dat to mpg will work too.

  5. Ok-cheers.
If I rename it from .dat to .mpg, will I be able to drop it straight into my standalone DVD player & watch it on my tv then ?

    Cheers again.

  6. Hmmm-I have just used Nero, but all I ended up with was a set of folders called CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, SEGMENT, & VCD.

    Is that right ??
I assumed that I would end up withy a file on my cd that I could just drop into my standalone DVD player ?

    Thanks again.

  7. It's correct, those are the folders the DVD needs to know how to read your VCD.
