    In dvdLab Pro

how to program to Stop/Pause Playing the DVD's current track then :

    a) Return to the Last/Main(Root) Menu or
    b) Play the NEXT as programmed
    c) Play the Previous track as programmed
    d) Repeat the current track from beginning

VCDeasy allows all this done in a very easy manner (arrows in various directions in addition to with number keys); Not sure about dvdLab Pro.

Next moves to the next chapter, as per DVD spec. not the next title. If you want to move on to the next title, place a chapter point at the very end of the current title and link to the next title in the connections window.

Or, you can link your titles together using Movie Segments, however you can't have chapter points if you do this.

All of this is inthe DVD Lab Pro manual - try reading it and experimenting

  3. In DVD Lab Pro, you can actually get out of DVD specs and re-program the Prev/Next buttons (although in that case you lose the capacity to have chapter points, since you cannot navigate them anymore).

Here s how to do it:

Link all your titles within the connection window, in the right order.
For each title, right click on the movie container. From the drop down menu, select UOPs & Settings. Unclick the little check box that says 'Strictly adhere to DVD-3 4.3.2'
You are now free to change the definition for your previous and next buttons from the drop down list, to 'Go to Previous movie/Follow end link to next movie'.

I actually used that a lot (initially) for DVDs of TV shows, so that you can navigate easily to the next episode. I don't do it anymore for 2 reasons: default navigation takes care of this anyway, and reprogramming the button means losing the functionality of chapter points. Plus navigation is fairly easy using the menus anyway.

I was trying to achieve what VCDeasy offers in the "Interactivity" tab:
Customization of the "Playback Control" interactivity.

I did search the items in the dvdLabpro.pdf (manual?), but couldn't find the discussion/guidance on those; dvdLab offers various arrows to navigate between items listed in the Menu. Or I missed them completely.

As posted previously, I am more interested in finding out how can I program remote button control during the play of a certain item e.g.

    1 Return to itself(repeat)/other immeidately/delayed
    2. Next item immediately/delayed
    3. Previous item immediately/delayed
    4. Default (as offered in VCDeasy, but not sure what it is?)

Sounds from the replies that these PlayBack Control Interactivity is not not possible for DVDs?

Anyway, can dvdLab or which other DVD authoring programs do these?

    Thanks.

  5. VCDEasy assumes you can do anything you want with navigation, and the disk will still play.
DVD spec is much more strict. You can only change so much, or it becomes a coaster.
Read the help files/manual that came with DVDLab.
Everything you can, and cannot do, is in there somewhere.
