I have a Sony analog camcorder. It has the red white and yellow connectors and I want to be able to hook this up to my laptop. My laptop has USB ports and everything. I was wondering what kind of adaptor do I need to get so that I can put all the footage from the camcorder to my hard drive so I can work with them and eventually create a DVD out of them.

How about a PCMCIA capture card? Or as a alternative, there are a few external capture boxes that have a USB 2.0 output.

It has to convert the analog signal to digital. Check under capture cards to the left, it doesn't have to be a card. They make them for firewire or USB. Make sure you have USB2 on your laptop and the device is USB2 if you want USB.
