    What software would allow me to do such a function? I would like to copy some of my old vhs tapes and burn them to cd's. and also record to a vcr to edit?

    What you propose can be done, but makes no sense.

    Edit on the computer. And don't burn to CD, burn to DVD.

    You need a capture card for starters.
