  1. (Remember VCDEasy accepts MPEG1 files ONLY when the VideoCD type option is changed to VCD 1.1 - this is very important - Abond, for you especially, coz if VCD 2.0 is left, then the same old message appears saying that it wouldn't accept MPEG2 files)
Well, this is the query especially for me.
Listen, with 1.1.4 I have no problems. 1.1.5 I didn't even see, but I read that it is roughly the same. Take in mind that I never installed any newer version - than I don't know if they come with something new that can screw older versions if they co-exist.
This is my answer to the query which means that with this version that I have there isn't difference if I use 1.1 or 2.0. 1.1.4 even looks different a bit than your screenshots.
You have a new theory about VCDEasy? Very good.

After going through this long journey, currently, I'm just encoding mpeg2 files into avi and decided to watch them on computer.

However, the reason why I relied upon VCD is simple:

1.) The size occupied by an MPEG1(VCD) is comparitively very less than that of an MPEG2 or AVI file.
2.) I wanted to fit the large size mpeg2 files in some way or the other, on less number of CDs. So, I thought converting them into MPEG1(standard VCD) is the best possible way.

Unfortunately, I realized after a long-long journey that the resolution and clarity that the MPEG2 or AVI formats provide cannot be obtained in any way on earth, in the MPEG1(VCD) format.

Anyways, guys if your ready to sort out a small problem belonging to my current venture, then, pls tell me how to merge two or more mpeg2 videos without losing audio sync or video.

I tried MPEG2VCR, but it failed to do so - to be more clear it is merging the video, but the audio is totally unsynchronized(running awkwardly with the video).

Coming to TMPGEnc, I used Merge&Cut tool of MPEG Tools. There I added two mpeg2 files. It merged the files to give a new file without any audio.

So, guys my new question is - How to merge more than two mpeg2 files.

  3. Your VCDEasy problem is very simple. You are NOT repeat NOT creating MPG1 files, you are remuxing MPEG-2 files as MPEG-1 files. This is NOT the same thing. Further, the resolution is out of VCD spec. Program is not intended to handle such files. The different versions of the prog do not handle these any better or worse, you simply get different error messages. File is both NOT MPEG-1 and NOT VCD spec, though it sounds like one version could be fooled IF the resolution was correct.

Only place DVD and VCD spec are identical is for display of Still Pictures Only. Answer was given, what more explanation do you need?

Almost every question you have asked (and a whole bunch more you haven't, but to which you need answers) is easily resolved thru the Search feature. Pictures, diagrams, discussions, etc., which thru reading multiples of these you may see some of the places you need more info, such as to understand what is wrong with the procedure discussed in paragraph 1, VCD specs, DVD specs, etc., etc.
