When I play long mpeg-1 files (like an hour or so) it plays fine in Windows Mediaplayer from the beginning to end, but if I want to jump to the middle or end, it takes the mediaplayer 10 seconds or so before it plays the audio and video correctly. Any fix for this so I can jump to any point and have the player start playing instantly? The files are encoded with TMPGEnc and using Windows Mediaplayer 9.

Yes, I did try that player and it does a better job because it will show video while dragging the search bar around (don't understand why MS would drop that nice feature in the new mediaplayer?), but when released, it takes the player 5-10 seconds before it plays the audio and video correctly (in sync). It's most likely an issue with the mpeg codec.
