  1. I am not a n00b, i just wasnt quite sure where to put this...

Whenever I use TMPGEnc to convert a .mov file, it always says the video is 600fps, and can not read the audio.

The framerate thing is annoying, but easily able to work around, as i can still select the desired frames for source range setting.
But, the audio thing is quite annoying, because I have to use QTPro to extract the audio to .wav and feed that to TMPGEnc.

Now, i have "upgraded" my QuickTime to version 7 and lost my Pro status. So, now i can no longer export the audio into .wav file.
TMPGEnc is able to read the video but unable to read the audio streams from my .mov movies
Is there any other way to fix this?

Could also crank the dshow priority in TMPGEnc to do the same thing. You need to have dshow filters capable of decoding it though.

You could use mplayer to extract the audio to wav.

  4. where do i get these dshow filters?

edit: okay, i downloaded and installed Quicktime Alternative. Although it said it recommends to uninstall QuickTime, i kept it because i still want the actual program even if i hardly use it.

From the QTAlt installation, i only installed the DirectShow filter, and as far as i've tested, i am now able to play .mov files in Windows Media Player.

    My next question is...
In TMPGEnc's Environmental Settings, which should have a higher priority setting?
    QuickTime Movie Reader, or
    DirectShow Multimedia File Reader ?
