Firewire lead help

Hi, sorry but I am new and need some help

I need a firewire lead for my camcorder canon mvx250i but not sure which lead i need to buy

please can you help ?

Most likely 4 pin to 6 pin but you need to determine that. Look on the cam and your computer and compare to these pics and purchase the appropiate one.

4 pin (probably what's on the cam):


6 pin (probably what's on your coputer):


If the cam only has 4 pin what you connect it to on the computer doens't matter, either 4 or 6 pin will suffice.

Hi the coalman, thanks for your reply.

Checked camcorder looks same as your 4 pin picture (( however counted the pins entries and there are 5 ?? ))

Computer looks like the picture of 6 pin only in 1 straight line not two lines in your pic

I have the Canon MVX250i and use a 4pin to 6pin lead exactly as the coalman says.

That's a USB connection your looking at they are similar but the shapes are different, look at the shapes above again. They have to exactly match. In the 4 pin it would be the black area, in the six pin it would be the shape of the grey area surrounding the black.

Yes shape 6 pin is on my computer, so i will buy 4 to 6 thanks alot
