I authored/compiled a DVD thru dvdLab Pro 1.5 and had it burnt onto one -R and one +R disc, and the Power Producer had no problems playing both DVDs; however, my Panansonic RV-32 had problems playing both.

During burning, dvdLab gave a message that the DVD it burnt may not play in all players, it may need the DVD Burner OEM software to do the job etc.

However, my Nero would not recognize the DAL file created by dvdLab Pro.

    What are my options here?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions/advise.

I am guessing from this that you used the built in burning option in DVD Lab Pro. Instead of doing this, write the DVD out to the HDD and then you can use Nero to burn. The DAL file is simply DVD La's project file, and contains only project related information (file locations, font details etc). You have to compile the project to get a DVD.

I used Project ->burn DVD ->Burn : Check Create ISO Image on Hard Drive

dvdLab Pro save an IMG file in the C drive ; unforuntately NERO would not recognize it.

    What's go around on this?

    Thanks.

Project->Compile DVD. Select an output folder, and this is where your DVD folders and files will go. Then use Nero to create a DVD Video, and use the video_TS contents that DVD Lab created to fill the empty video_TS structure Nero will give you.

    - Or even better: Make a DVD image of the VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders with imgtools classic - burn with DVDDecrypter.

Thanks. Per your suggestions, I found the Vedio_Ts/Audio_TS directories and burnt 2 more DVDs -
    - one with Nero ROM SE 6.6 (OEM)
    - one by IMG tools 1.2.0,
but both had problems running in my DVD Player - Panasonic DVD-RV-32.

As the (4) DVDs burnt so far with various venues that all can be played by my computer's DVDs (both Sony, 1 is burner) with no problems, I am wondering whether the standalone DV32 player is simply too old to handle the DVDs prepared by the set-up. But nevertheless the Player had no problems playing VCDs created by VCDeasy just within the past 2 weeks?

-- The one burnt by IMG and another (?) can be played intermittendly, the player would hiss and huff (seeking and ...), but simply it just took very long time to turn around and do the normal sequences, or not do the things. ...

    Suggestions?

  7. You should look for imgtool CLASSIC if you want to burn with DVD decrypter

What kind of problems actually? No recognition of the disk at all, no menu, no video, stuttering...? It could also be a problem of your source material, not (just) a burning problem.

    Thanks for your inputs.

**** Working Well on my Computer - PowerDVD

All of the discs that are recognized by myComputer have been runing properly with PowerDVD according to my design, -Mouse navigation fine in the menu, clicking the button to activae the selected track.

At the completion of that track play, the repeat process is still fine. it would return to the initial main Menu in which everything still fine including mouse navigation/activation/return etc to start play again.

** myComputer would not recognize discs created by VSO copytoDVD which is avaiable as a submenu in the dvdLab Pro's Project menu.

*********** All Not Working Well at the Standalone DVD Player (Panasonic DVD-RV32)

    1. The player would take a Very Very Very long time to read all the discs, and most would not work at all.

    2. By chance/luck? one or two discs (by IMG Tools) would eventually show the initial Menu in which button navativation and selection to start one track fine; however, the subsequent navigation/play is not for sure, sometime OK, most, NO.

    ***********

As such, I would think the content/manu design with dvdLab Pro is fine; the problem maybe lies with the Panasonic player which may not understand some of the navigation codes?

As my Panasonic Player is about 4 years old, I am thinking to try my discs on some other newer Players in the stores to see whether that would make any difference.

    Thanks.

Good News! With the suggestions received from others to use a lower burning speed, I just made DVDs (+/-R) playable in my own Panasonic RV-32.

I set DVD Decrepter to the lowest speed possible 2.4x for +R (Fujifilm)
and 2.0 for -R(Office Depot) to burn the ISOs created by IMG Classics last week.

    ******************************

Note: My weeknd trial found that my in-law's Panasonic S35 was able to play my +R DVDs burnt by IMG Tools at 8X.

    Thanks to all.
