I don't know if this is the right forum to post this but I want to backup a DVD of an old color movie that has film grain and I want to know what is the best denoise filter for Avisynth to use with old movies. Thanx

When backing up DVD to DVD, the only filter I normally use is Undot, even on the older and grainier/noisier films, which doesn't do much, but does give you some little bit of additional compressibility. When encoding extras at a lower bitrate, I'll also add RemoveGrain. Others prefer Deen, FluxSmooth, Convolution3D and others. You have to be careful when trying to remove film grain, as it's easy to mess up the grain structure and to smooth too much. But here, take your pick:
