  1. I'm trying with screenblast movie studio and the next version vegas movie studio to do the following:

i have a little movie, and want to make it to move 2 times faster, i'm setting the playback rate to 2, well it plays double faster, but cause the "square" of the movie in the time line is still the same, it continues to play it again (if loop is set) or just the screen stays the same, if the loop is not set.
I want to make it just to play it 2 times faster and continue to the next one....

yes i can try to adjust the "square", to make it smaller in order to finish exactly with the end of the 2 times faster movie, but this is not the smart way, and is too slow when i have to do it for... like 50 little movies which i have to connect and set differend playback speeds

so, is there a smarter way to do the task?

That is the only way if you use the velocity envelopes (that's what vegas calls them). You are changing the playback rate, so the clip reaches the end faster. You have to adjust the length of the clip to match your changed speed.

  3. ahh...that's stupid....
would you recommend me software where i just set the playback rate and do not need to adjust the length...... ?

    thanks

String them all together and output as a normal video file. Use avisynth to remove every second frame. playback at normal speed. Or, if they are all meant to play back at the same speed, string them all together, then adjust the playback for the entire movie. Only output the first play through (i.e. half the loop). If the speed is a constant at twice the playback speed, you only need to output half the total length.

I haven't played with movie studio, so I don't know how it works. With Vegas (the full version) you apply what is called a velocity envelope to the track, You can then set points and move the speed up or down as you need to. If you reduce it to 0 for a period you can have the clip slow to a stop, then come out of it again. This allows you to vary the speed as much as you like (or have footage for) whenever you like. It does take some getting used because it has the same effect as you have experienced (vary time and the length of clip doesn't change), but it would solve your problem

    thank you very much guns1inger
i played a bit with the velocity envelope and really like it, will do great job for me
but can't manage to make it to reach the end automatically as soon as the whole movie is played

  8. the other option i can think out now is
to line all the clips i need, join them in one
and set the velocity for the whole thing as just one clip...
but how i can join all small clips on the timeline in one big?

in movie studio or vegas , right click on media properties and change playback rate is all you have to do

you can also hold the control key down and click the end of the clip with the mouse and drag it right or left ..
