  1. Hmm I ripped a DVD into VOBs, and was having trouble with the deinterlacing. I've figured out that these VOBs might be in PAL format, but programs I've tried like Premiere, VDubMod, VideoStudio, etc. won't touch the VOBs to give me their file info. Flask opens them, but sometimes the file info Flask configures itself to is wrong. (Flask is configuring itself to 29.97fps/720x480, yet when I deinterlace into a PAL file instead of NTSC, the deinterlacing finally looks good.)

Any suggestions on a way I can check the VOBs' pixels/framerate to know for sure?

load your vob to dvd2avi. If it is 720 x 576 is PAL

Gspot,Avicodec or Virtualdub mpeg2 (all free) will open the file and tell you the video info

  4. Nope...the VirtualDub MPEG-2 won't open it, and DVDtoAVI/GSpot open it but the file info comes up blank. AVIcodec gives some info but not the framerate/pixels.

I finally got ahold of the original DVD this was transferred from, and the label on the DVD says "PAL". HOWEVER, the demuxed version of the VOB is showing up as 720x480/29.97fps...is there any chance that could have changed during demuxing (though I doubt it)?
