this has just happened recently and i cant seem to fix it, when ever i try to reduce the hight of a file when encoding it using main concept then i get the following results
however if i frame serve the exact same file from virtual dub mod then i can scale it (using main concept scale menu) and there are no problems at all
it only does this weird colour blocks thing when i try to encode and scale directly within main concept
encoding the file with no scaling works fine
any ideas .... please

I would suggest MC is having a problem with the codec required to view and manipulate this file. Virtualdub does not have this problem, and frameserving to MC gives MC an uncompressed source to work with. You can continue to frameserve and ignore the problem, or spend time trying to isolate MC's problem. It might be as simple as updating the codec. However, you also have a working solution if you can't solve the MC issue.
