  1. I hope right section

Going too buy an nokia 6681 in a few days, want some simple video-files to play on it, what do i need or use best ?

Did some searching, but can use some extra help in the forrest of threads and messages, do i need a 3gpp converter or is pocketdivxencoder the tool.

I believe that nokia works on mpeg4, but memory without extra mmc is just 64mb, so files need to be small.

(extra cards are hard to get and very expensive in europe because of RS/duo voltage, not very common till today)

    Thanx for directing me

Do i also need some specific additional player ? I've heard that build in standard ones can't rew and ffwd and will stop (and start and the beginning all over) when u receive sms or get a call ....

Do you have sound when you play the converted file on the PC (as opposed to the phone?)

not sure on that phone, but some nokias will only play AMR_NB (Narrow Band) sound, not AMR_WB (Wide Band). NB quality is pretty ropey but my phone only supports that and you get used to it!

  5. no sound on pc ...

The trick is, i dont have the phone, first want to see some quality before i buy my 6681, but sofar im not impressed ....

Some collega's play whole movies, reasonable quality, on there phones ...

I've also tried xilisoft 3gp converter in meantime, but the outcoming files don't play on that build in previewbox, they do play on the nokia converter software, with audio, but the pic is crap (blocks and blurry), the aaudio ain't that bad.... Maybe it has some to do with settings, but in most ccases if i change anything, i get a converting failure.
Source is a .avi divx capped from hdtv, very nice on pc, but maybe not that good as source for this project ?
