  1. Can I edit a DVD recorded on a DVD recorder?
Erm... it might seem a dumb thing to ask...
But a while back, we bought a Lite On DVD recorder.
    It records OK.
But... we can't access the recorded DVD's on PC.
We never got round to changing it asking for tech help.

Are there any specific models that are more PC compaitble?

In particular, I'm thinking of buying the following model:

    "H & B DRX-430 Slimline DivX DVD Recorder"

I haven't found much feedback on this website.

Any further opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

DVD +R's do not have to be finalized.

  6. If you want to edit, rewriteables are the best. You can start early and end late to make sure you got it all and then trim it in the computer.

If you want to edit, a capture card is the best.

Sometimes, even after its finalized the DVD volume created by the SETTOP recorder will appear in EXPLORER as 4 gig or so of material, but upon investigation, only one .VOB with file weight (typical .99gb)
if this ids the case, copying the VOLUME to the PC's harddrive will not work!
PLEASE use decrypter, and a normal VOLUME structur will be evident when finished ripping (several .VOB's bearing the 4.~gb file sizes)
