  1. What's the "best" way to author a DVD from mpg files that contain left and right channel audio tracks? I'm trying to compile a karaoke DVD from mpg files and have tried Nerovision Express but it doesn't transcode the the left and right channel separately so I end up with one audio track containing both channels. Can someone offer some insights into this please?

    Hi Iron_Monkey,

If I understand you correctly, and you want separate audio tracks, then an authoring tool like DVDLab Pro does multiple audio tracks.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

    Hi Daamon,

I've yet to try this software but I'm actually not trying to separate the audio tracks (not sure if that's what I need to do in order to make it work). I have karaoke videos in mpg format that has two audio tracks (left and right channel, one w/o vocals and the other with vocals) and have been able to create simple VCDs with Nero with selectable left and right channel audio tracks. I basically want to do the same thing, except to create it on DVD as I can fit 4 times as many videos as a VCD. How would I do this?

    Hi Iron_Monkey,

I've not needed to do this, but my suspicion would be that you'd need two audio tracks - one with the left channel only, and the other as right channel only.

Then author to DVD with seectable audio tracks. Others may have a better suggestion...
