  1. Hello all, I am using Nero Vision Express 2 and i have various .avi files that I want to burn onto a DVD. The files range in size but are between 234.mb-3.54mb I want to use Nero Vision Express 2 to add these files and then create a menu, chapters etc and then burn them onto a DVD-R. When I add the video files, Vision Express says that the files are too big and the video size is about 5 Gigs. What way do i need to compress these files? How can I burn them keeping the aspect ratio and quality but still be able to create the menus and features. I just want to use Vision Express 2 and don't have any other program for this. Thanks for any help that you might provide.

    Windows Xp
    Nero showtime
    Avi files (2) 234.mb +320 mb
    DVD-R

*note* I have used Winavi to convert the files to DVD and then burned them onto a Dvd successfully but the drawback of this is that it does not create any of the features that I want. The important this is to keep the quality and add menus and other features. thanks

The size of the input files doesn't matter at all. Only the length and the output bitrate matter. If you want smaller output you have to reduce the length (not really feasible) or the bitrate. Lowering the bitrate will result in a loss of quality, not necessarily a noticable one though.

If you have been successful with winavi, I would suggest ditching NVE and using tmpgenc DVD author to create your menus. A number of people here use this combination quite happily.
