    Hi everyone

    a couple of days ago i downloaded divx6 and when i first used it it said i had to install a ac3 filter.

    i looked for one and installed it for divxconverter to work.

    the problem is that i unistalled divx6 and since then i am unable to listen to dvds with ac3 tracks. i unistalled the ac3 filter aswell but no ac3 still

    can anyone help me out?

    What software are you using to play the dvds. Try media player classic which has its own AC3 decoder.

    im using powerdvd 6 the same one that i used to use before the problem appeared.

    i usede to get ac3 decoding with it before i installed the ac3 filter

    Just reinstall PowerDVD. It will correct everything.

    thanks for the info SLK.

    i tried to install powerdvd but it says that i must install directx 9 or above but i have directx9.c installed, dont know why it says that.

    Doesn't the PowerDVD installation disc contain the proper Directx files?

    The go to Microsoft and download the needed DirectX files - they're free.

    yea, but i already have directx9 or avove as requested by powerdvd. i have directx9.c.

    seems my only choice is to unistall it and install directx9 and then install direct9.c again.

    Slk can u recomend a dvd player? freeware if possible

    no reference about directx media in the warning

    Search your system for a program called "DXDIAG" and run it. On the first page, it shows the current version of DirectX installed. Verify that you really do have version 9.0c installed.

    it says directx versi0on is 4.09.00.0904



    and that the file at the bottom belongd to a previous instalation
