  1. I used Virtualdub to split a large file into three pieces to burn to CDs. The individual pieces play perfectly on my PC. But when I burn them directly to CDs (as AVIs) using Nero, they will not play any audio on my Philips DVP642. This player supports DivX, and I've had been successful doing this in the past. The video is fine.

    It says the audio compression is ADPCM (44100 Hz). I saw somewhere that this is not supported by DVD players.

    Is there an easy way to change this compression? I'd rather burn it as an AVI than go through that longer process of spitting out a wav and then using Tmpgenc to create a VCD. Can I somehow run it through Virtualdub to fix this? But if I need to take the longer route, I guess I'll have too.

    Thanks.

    Search Comp PM
    install lame mp3 acm
    open the video in virtualdub
    set video->direct stream copy
    set audio->full processing
    change to lame mp3 audio under audio->compression.
    save as a new avi.
