These past two days, I've been trying to upload a file. About at around 2MB my internet connection is just cut off. I thought it was a freak thing so I tried again. At the same spot, disconnected. So I then just try to ftp it onto my own space. Again I get disconnected at the same spot. I wait a couple of hours and try again. Once again, at around 2MB I am disconnected. I have no problems with small files. What could be doing this?

First thing, I would try to download a similar file of the same size to see if it's a problem with the file source. In general, that's an odd size to cut off at. I'm assuming dial up. I don't know why your ISP would cut you off. Leaves your computer and or software. You might also try saving it to a different location, just in case it's a problem with storage size in a folder. Sorry, all I can think of for now.
EDIT: I don't know how I missed the word 'upload'. Sorry. With that said, I would suspect your ISP, though, as I said, that's an odd size. I think I would give your ISP a call and see if they can explain it. -
I was having a lot of issues with my FTP software and my server until I "dialed it in". It would time out after a few files during a multiple file upload. 100K uploads now, and yes that's a capital K.
Try unchecking "passive mode" if it's checked or try a different FTP program.

Its not just ftp though. I first tried uploading to file hosting sites and it did the same thing. Just now, I even tried attaching it to an email (Yahoo!) and again it disconnected me. I'm on DSL.

Just a suggestion...but if you have tried multiple files....to multiple servers...with multiple ftp programs... I'd say it's an issue with the ISP, especially considering it cuts off at the same point everytime if the above is all true.

Thanks guys for the help.
I tried a different file and it uploaded fine. Guess it was just that one file.
Though I'm still confuzed as to why it would cut off the connection. His name was MackemX
