  1. hi i am trying to put some music i have with a video i have using tmpgencs dvd author and i get this message when i try to put the audio in ok

    Illegal audio format.

    Illegal audio format.
    For a standard DVD you can only use the following audio formats:

    Dolby Digital (AC-3), MPEG-1 Audio Layer-2, or Linear PCM.
    does any one know what is wrong at all or how i can fix the problem any help would be very much appreciated thanks everybody

  2. The audio stream obviously isn't encoded properly (Corrupt).Try encoding the audio with TMPGEnc with the audio format of your choice,MPEG-1 Audio Layer-2, or Linear PCM

    FFmpeggui will encode the audio to ac3, use that as the audio input to TDA.

    I would take the original file and run it through AVIcodec or Gspot and see what it says about the audio. If it's a AVI, it could be MP3 VBR audio or AC3 audio that TMPGEnc Author can choke on. If it's an AVI, maybe use VirtualDub or MOD and save out the audio as a WAV, then encode that as AC3 with ffmpegGUI or similar. Or just encode the audio with TMPGEnc encoder to MPEG-1 Layer2. Then feed this into TDA. Or it could be the audio is out of spec for DVD. Either way AVIcodec or Gspot should tell you. Also check the DVD spec (To the left 'What is DVD' <<<) to see what's required.
