    I just thought I'd point out that Cyberhome has released new Firmware for both versions of the DVR-1600 (MU & ZU).

    So if you've been having troubles with it perhaps it will fix the issues.

    Be sure to read the page *carefully* because there are two updates each for both versions of the player. And for some reason Cyberhome didn't list them logically on the download page.

    I ran the updates on my ZU version and thankfully DVD-R/W recording is still possible.
