  1. Hey all, I took some video off of a dvd, so it's mpeg2 with mpeg2 audio embedded (so it's just one file).

I imported it into After Effects (version 6.0) and when I started playing it back, some parts were flashing. I'm not really sure what's going on. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks for your help.

AE 6 does not handle mpeg2 well. You should import it as converted frames or convert it to avi or QT.

I converted it to avi but then when i played it back in windows media player, the quality looked worse and the video was skipping and the audio was off sync...

and when i converted to .mov it did the same thing pretty much.

    EDIT:
actually, I just played the mpeg2 video in vegas5, and kinda did the same thing. It flashed and was kind of off sync with the audio.

I did some cuts in vegas5 and rendered to mpeg2 again. The audio was off because the video was moving and super high speeds.
