i did a search but didnt' find what i was looking for, most likely because i didn't know what quesiton to ask. so here for the humans in the crowd....

i have dvd's (orig) that only have 1 language track for example english. I want to "find" another language track, for example spanish, and remove the english track. My wife speaks spanish but not english, and she doesn't (and sometimes I for that matter) doesn't like reading the subtitles throughout the entire movie.

SO, i'm thinking it's something very simple like load the movie in premiere or pinnacle (or equivelent if any recommendations are had) delete the existing audio track and insert the desired audio track.

NOW, the next is, simply point me in the right direction and i'll do the walking here..... what tools will i use to extract the audio from another "file," (avi for instance) ensure the proper timing, and convert to my destination file specs. ntsc US 29.67 fps (am i close?.) of i were to get an avi that's 26fps i need to change that.

thanks in advance for not being mean to yet another newb question.

  2. Audio doesn't have a framerate!
If you could find the audio you need, you can most likely extract it to .wav in virtualdubmod.
You're probably going to lose a lot of hair trying to get it to sync, but it could be done in something like Soundforge or Vegas.

Soundforge or Vegas, yes. But do they open vobs, or DVD has to be demuxed, so the video stream could be previewed and be synchronized with that wav?

    Hi beechum1,

The following guide doesn't precisely address what you want to do, but it may be close enough to allow you to tweak it and figure out what you want to do.

    Hope that helps...
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
