  1. I have a centrios dvd recorder, I love it! My question is how do you record dvd to dvdrecorder with a DVD movie I bought? Or is this possible? When I try I get recording prohibited. I know its the copyright protection on the dvd. I hooked it straight up using the RCA jacks. Is there a way to fool this? Or am I just stuck using my computer to back up my dvd's? Thanks for anyones input or advise!

To fix that problem I went out and got an Apex AD-600A dvd player off of Ebay. That particular model from around 1999-2000 had a "secret loopholes menu" which allows you to turn the macrovision (copyguard) off in order to back up your movies. It works great! That was my simple solution.

Yep, i use a cyberhome and GE that are hacked for the loopholes to change region and turn of macrovision ect. for doing such things, you can get a cyberhome for $40.00 & under.

But that is for extreme cases as i would think most would want to do the backup on their pc as to render much better quality

Turning off macrovision will not stop the can't copy message, that's caused by Digital Copy Protection not macrovision. The Ad-600A will turn off macrovision but I think you need the OFFA firmware to turnoff DCP. Some DVD turnoff macrovision but not DCP. Be careful they are two different things.
