  3. Latest DVDDecrypter 3.5.4.0 will do the trick. You'll have to find it on a mirror site as the author was threaten and has killed his web site and stopped all work because it solves the problem that you are having.

  5. I was able to back up closer and Spanlish using the latest DVDDecrypter. I'm a region one person so maybe it is different for regiion 2 but it is worth a try as these disks have bogus sectors very early on. I do not use anydvd.

Region 2 version of Closer has a tougher copy protection of sonys arrcoss than the Region 1 version.

& this info comes from what source ?
Just seem's strange to me they would use a tougher copy protection for one country than another on the exact same dvd release at the same time.
Although i understand it would have to be a diff. production run because of the diff. video format, ect.

It has to be true. I backed up Closer R1 absolutely trouble free. Then R2 came out and all sorts of problems arose. Latest AnyDVD specifically addresses non-R1 Closer.

For your information, Region 1 and 2 dvds are not released at the same time (which is the whole point of region coding)

Region 2 usually comes out several months after the Region 1 release. Which means Sony have time to get tougher on their copy protections.

The point was i just wondered if anyone had proof for sure or if it was just people having "problems" as many have seen before with the exact same disc. I also stated that i know they would be diff. production runs because of format's, but it just seemed starnge that they would make that much of a diff. and not try to make them all the same.

    :P :P :P nah!!

I don't even know the movie and i was thinking of ordering a region 2 disc to check it out & i usually only order region 2 or 4 dvd's if it's something i really want and can't get here, like i heard constantine was coming out on region 3 NTSC a month earlier than region 1
