  1. hey everyone, thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

    here is my problem:

i cannot consistently burn dvd discs using nero, and i do not know if my problem is in the encoded file that i converted using winavi, or if the problem is in nero. i do not get any errors after burning with nero, it says it burns sucessfully, no errors, but it doesnt play on my dvd player.

im using a lite-on 1633s to burn, winavi 6.2 registered, 1.5 amd, 768 ram, and verbatim dvd-r discs.

i am showing a full 4.26gb in the converted file folder, so i am not sure where my problem lies. i also have have the k-lite codec pack installed so that winavi can properly read the movie as well

    any suggestions?

    thanks again, scott

  4. no, the disc does NOT play on the PC, and also shows no data on the disc when i try to explore it in 'my computer' but the files on the HD folder the video_TS are in DO play thru powerdvd

    hope that makes sense

  6. Try to check if the disc is realy written (is not empty), It may happen if check unintentionaly simulate opption.
Your exersizes with aspi are useless as nero comes, instals and uses its own aspi that aspi-checker doesn't get.

  7. how do i check to see if the disc actually contains data or not? and even if it does, does it matter since my PC/standalone dvd player will not play it anyway?

i was able to burn a movie after i installed the aspi files, but it is using CopyToDVD, and it took forever to do it, about 50 minutes or so, writing at an average speed of 1.93x

i know the burner i have can write faster than this, and i know a outrageous speed isnt recommended because slower speeds cut down on errors, but 2x kinda sux...i am using a lite-on SOHW 1633s to burn with

is there any setting i should check in nero before i try using it again to burn? i am using a guide i found on using nero to burn, and i have sucessfully burned before using this guide. here is the link to it if anyone is interested:

    thanks again for any help
