With the onset of summer, many parts of India are facing heat wave conditions with the day's maximum temperature crossing over 45 degree Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit).

I know it gets hot like this elsewhere - but you also have 500 million crammed together there

not 500 million people crammed together there either with no air conditioning plus 60-70% humidity ..

plus it has been only averaging a peak of 104- 106 there in Phoenix with less than 10% humidity (though it can get hotter 4 sure)

  6. 14 degrees and raining. Does rain= 100% humidity

  7. Only the coastal areas will have the high humidity factor but then the temperature in the coast will not be as high as you mention. Also not all parts of India will have the temperatures that you mention. For instance, monsoon has already set in, in the southern peninsular India and the temperature in Bangalore, Pune, etc. is 30C max. The north part of India will be hot for another one and a half months (till end of July). But in the north the humidity is quite low at the moment - something like 10-20%.

Rain != 100% humidity. It will be above 90% though.

  9. It is 16 deg C here and raining. I'm glad - last year it was in 28 deg C average with no breaks. Exam period was a whole lot more difficult.

  10. IN my city of Pune, it is hot from late March to early June only. The max temperature during that time is 4OC. Also there are plenty of hill stations nearby and around to cool off.

  12. A hill station is a town located high in the mountains. This is a term we use in India quite a lot. These towns were mainly developed by the British during their time in India. They coined the term and it stuck.
