    Hi,

    Check tmpgencs website.

Also try to reinstall it. That occasionally solve problems.

Abond, what is as simple as TDA???
Also I would really like one that allows you to mix different Resolutions, TDA they all have to be the same unless you want to create seperate tracks.

  7. I do not want to argue about this. It is simply an "other idea" that's all. Usualy if I have an error from a SW which I cannot solve or I don't understand, I simply change the SW and get the work done.
I am using Gui for dvdauthor and it is quite simple for my projects.

I think TMPGEnc DVD Author is THE easiest and most reliable.I cannot help you solve the problem, but I'd like to say that I've never had any problems with it(Touch Wood)nor have many other people.I would'nt just scrap it and use some other software.

Easiest - maybe, most reliable - for me certainly not - I want subtitles

  10. Abond,I understand what you mean. When I say its reliable I just mean that it has never given me any errors.

  11. Yes, OK, good for you . Unfortunately it doesn't help dudeman316.

  12. Like I said though I dont think dudeman316 should not use it anymore just because of an unknown error. There IS a way to solve the problem.Maybe someone else has had the same problem and knows the answer, afterall the subject hasn't been on the site for long.

When you unistalled/reinstalled, did you reinstall back into the same directory as it originally resided ? Maybe try reinstalling into a different directory ?

I'm thinking corrupt registry maybe ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

I was thinking registry too. You might try registry doctor. That's what I use. I think it has a free trial period.

  16. You could try:
Click start ,Click Run,type regedit and search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Pegasys Inc.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pegasys Inc.
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-796845957-1123561945-725345543-1004\Software\Pegasys Inc.

    and delete the registry keys

Are you turning off any programs before you try to author? If so, you may be turning off a program needed by DVD author.

What kind of file are you trying to author? Be sure it's a file acceptable by DVD author.
    Is it Friday yet?

  22. Did you install any new software or hardware?

    edit:
I tried a google search and found the same question but no answers.

  23. 1. You didn't say if it is all the files you try to author or only one ?

    2. I have seen this error as recently as last night. For me it is caused by a bad file. Whenever I have had this problem it means a recode of the troublesome file(s) is needed. I have been able in my case to pin it down to a specific file by trying them in author mode one at a time until the error appears. I put that project on the side until I have more time and went on to author other projects with no problems.

    3. That seems to be a error thrown up by most TMPGEnc programs on bad files with a specific type(s) of problem. I have seen same type error in DVD Author, TMPGEnc Plus & TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress. Sometimes I just have to encode the problem file with something else such as CCE Basic which I also own. It doesn't happen often but can happen. It doesn't seem to mean a read error as in can't read the disk but rather that it can not read some kind of information in the file.

    Good Luck
