Hello,
I've got problems with installing under Panter.
In the self installer dialog I locate mplayer, mencoder and mpeg2enc.
All files are in the same folder.
Then I type in my password and all tools will be installed.
Also mencoder will not be installed.
Can anyone please give me a hint, what I can do to find out what I'm doing wrong?
Thank you for answering.
Thomas

Hi,
I've had and still have the same problem. The mencoder that is within the archive that is mentioned in the ffmpegx startup-dialog seems to contain a different version.
MEncoder dev-CVS-050118-17:00-3.3 (C) 2000-2005 MPlayer Team
Mac OSX static build by major for ffmpegX http://homepage.mac.com/major4/
AltiVec found
CPU: PowerPC
After locating the files I get this error:##cp: /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX/mpeg2enc: No such file or directory
I then get this error:##/bin/sh: line 1: cd: /usr/local/share: No such file or directorysudo mkdir /usr/local/share
The installer finishes the installation. However, uppon the next start of ffmpex mencoder is NOT found again.
I looked at the two directories that I've created.
/usr/local/share contains- mplayer
/Library/Application\ Support/ffmpegX contains- mpeg2enc
- mplayer
- gocrfilter_en.sed
- vcdxgen
- subtitle2pgm
- mp2enc
- gocrfilter_nl.sed
- vcdxbuild
- gocrfilter_none.sed
- yuvscaler
- tcextract
- yuvdenoise
- gocrfilter_fr.sed
- gocr
- mencoder
Mencoder has been copied. For some reason it seems that it is not beiing recognized.
I and many others have had that problem for weeks if not months now.
Is there a link to a "working" version of mencoder? Or is there a new version of ffmpegx out?
I have tried to be as precise as possible to get a precise answer or some kind of help that will get this fine piece of software running again.
