I use DIKO to convert all my files to KSVCD with excellent quality. I don't usually convert from DVD though. I made a d2v file using DVD2avi. I entered the AC3 and the D2V through diko like normal. Everything works great except the resulting quality is good but with some blur, blocks, and lines. It's like one of those interlace, top field, bottom field like prblems. Diko has an automatic setting. The DVD is interlaced. Freenc is what I converted with. Any ideas on how to fix this problem or what to do differently? I don't mind using other programs but CCE and Tmpgenc take forever just to run samples and Freenc doesn't need to run samples.

Thanks.

UPDATED:

I ran bitrateviewer to look at the video.

First my Vob source is 29.9 fps, interlaced.

The resultant skvcd video file is 23.9 fps progressive.

I am alittle confused between 29 and 23 because wouldnt this cause jerkiness or a combed effect?

By the look of bitrate viewer's report DIKO is working perfectly except it encodes everything to 23.9 or 25. What about using a 29 source?

Pulldown wont solve the problem.

Also DVD2AVI reports the vob as 23 fps and Bitrateviewer reports it as 29.9.
