I have used DVD rips I have done with DVDx with the program and tried to put chapter entry points every 5 mins.
The program burns the disc fine and it plays in my Mico DVD player, BUT not the chapter entry points!! If I hit the button for next chapter all it does is go back to the beginning!

I did think it was my DVD player not being to work with a VCD like this but I have an original VCD with chapters like this and it works. There is a menu of 8 clips but they are all one file. If you hit next on my remote it jumps to the next like it should but still showing the same track

    This is what I want!!

I did read it could be a problem with the Mpeg not having sequence headers? I did try to get a Program called Mpeg Sequence header but the link does not work?

I did read that TMPGEnc puts these headers in but I did not want to re-encode the video. I tried to de-multiplex and then re-multiplex with the tools in TMPGEnc hoping to get the same result. I then used this file with VCD easy 1.4 but it did not work?

Can anyone help me with this program.

I have seen other methods but they seem over complicated!

Will WinonCD 3.8 do what I want??

  2. Did you make sure that PBC was enabled/checked? For some odd reason the default is for it to be off, but chapters will not work unless you enable it.

  3. Have you tried following my guide ? I gave a screen capture of each section, and it should work for you as well, it's rather easy once you get the hang of it.

I tried using VCDEasy too but i couldnt get the |< and >| to work correct. neither did #. (well i could go to chapt 1)
I use TSCV insteadIts not complicated and it works a dream. TSCV is the way to go.

  5. I would also prefer TSCV, but since the question was regarding VCDEasy, then that's the answer I gave, but defenetly, TSCV is the best one around for Chapters and Menus!

Hey Sefy, I posted this in the Burn section earlier, since you've worked with TCSV any ideas?

I get the following error whenever I try to burn the a cue file.
Invalid offset for index 3 of track 2.

I have burned several VCDs, but this was my first attempt with a menu. I tried following the "How To" for a still menu
but TSCV is not available for ver 0.71, I could only get the latest 0.84. I got as far as creating the menu(which was really easy), but when it went to burn I got that error. I tried CDRDAO directly just to ensure it was not a TSCV problem, but I received the same error.

    Any inputs??

Did I miss setting an option? Unfortunately all the help files I have seen are based on 0.71, except Martini's.

    Thanks for the info.

I will have a look later as I have messed up the settings on my DVD player and now it has problems with VCD's!!

  8. thegig, could you email me that Cue file ? i'll have a look at it to see if something is wrong there, as for TSCV, I would highly suggest you contact Aenema Tool (TTool), he created it, he will be able to help you much better

    Great it works!!

I got a VCD with chapters every 5 mins to work!

One thing I did notice is I could not get the box with "Import Chapters" and Start offset and End Offset as in Sefy's guide?? What do these do?. Do I need them?
Can I import the correct chapter points as the DVD? How do I do it?

Also noticed that the counter resets to "0" every time you jump to another chapter point. Is there no way I could get it to keep the correct time in the film?

  14. MicoMan, do import identical DVD Chapters, you must extract the chapters information, use Chapter-X-Tracter as describe in my guide, and that should help you out.
