I've been trying to convert several DVDs to SVCD but have encountered the same problem with all attempts, namely that the last 5-10 minutes of video go missing. The audio is fine but the picture just freezes.
My method is to extract the film as a single VOB using 0SEx and then to use the SVCD ffmpeg preset with the settings as standard apart from unchecking Author as SVCD (XA.img) and selecting 5:1 for the audio channels (which doesn't work but I'm not particularly bothered).
The problem occurs whether I divide the film into 2 or 3 discs.
I'm running OS X 10.3.9.
Any advice as to what the solution might be ?

Are you using "Decode with Quicktime" with the "SVCD ffmpeg" preset?
Please also note that SVCD must use mp2 audio, stereo only.
