    I've been playing around with the demo version and built-in MC encoder in Sony Vegas. There is no option to mask, just crop & scale? The MC encoder in Vegas doesn't even have crop option. Why is that?

    In Vegas, you would apply a mask or crop as an effect or filter. You can preview it before commiting to the full render+MPeg2 encode.

    The Sony Mask Generator is used to apply a rectangular mask to any combination of components including alpha. Non-rectangular masks can be applied to alpha or as overlays.
