When I run Nero CD-DVD Speed 3.80 quality tests on a BenQ DW1620 on certain discs, I get the following error message near the end of the scan: "Error! NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION (000000)"

I have a small set of media (both recordable and pressed) which consistently gives these errors, but most discs do not. I searched on this error message and read several threads about it, but none quite gave me the explanation I was looking for:

The error was explained as "Indicates that a write-once device or a sequential-access device encountered blank medium or format-defined end-of-data indication while reading".

The media I'm reading is not blank and can read error-free via Windows Explorer (drag and drop) or DVD Shrink. However, Decrypter fails during an ISO read on most (but not all) of these same discs with a different error message (I think it was something about a read sector failure).

Could anyone help me understand what this means? The most important thing is that I'm trying to make sure my brand new BenQ 1620 drive does not have any hardware problems. I'm hoping this error is a problem with either low quality media or the software?

However, low quality media wouldn't explain why a brand new pressed DVD I bought also failed with this same error unless it's a symptom of some protection.

The only commonality I can find among the recordable media that fails is the Nero scans have high PIE and high PIF that occasionally go into the "red zone", but the odd thing is the scans work fine through all the high PIE/PIF until about 80-90% of the way through the scan, and then the scan aborts.

Would anyone know if both the Nero DVD quality tests and Decrypter's ISO read use some sort of lower level sector read which can cause a failure like this while at the same time Windows' Explorer and Shrink have no errors?

You'd think Nero's Quality tests would be able to get past any bad sectors or protection in its error scans rather than aborting with a "No Additional Sense Information" error.
