Hello there,
I am attempting to create DVD's from AVI files using firstly TMPGenc to convert the file type - then TMPGenc DVD author to create the DVD.
Everything burns fine but, when played back, the image seems to jump as if frames are missing - ie. any camera pans are jerky rather than fluid.
Does anybody have any idea why this may be happening?
Many thanks.

what is your source? video codec, framerate
are you doing any framerate conversIon? -
Baldrick's right it sounds like you've chosen the wrong framerate template in tmpgenc. find out the framerate of your source using something loke virtualdub and choose the right template accordingly

Hey there guys,
Thanks for the prompt reply - the framerate of the AVI file is 23.97 - Should I select the 24fps flicker prioritize option from the "inverse telecine" menu? Or am I completely on the wrong track? -
Wrong track.
Encode to 23.976 and use 3:2 pulldown in the "Encode mode" box.Cheers, Jim

go into select source rang see if tmpeg is detecing 23.976, some times it will detect it at 30 fps, you need to fiddle with the priority setting in your vfpai??? plugins!!!

I guess you're in PAL land, right? If so, make sure your equipment plays NTSC material without problem. Most PAL stuff do, but some not so good (mine doesn't...)
